Marketing & Communications Support

Viet Film Fest is a community-based film festival dedicated to showcasing Vietnamese cinema to Vietnamese-American audiences. The film festival founded in 2003 by Vietnamese American Arts & Letters Association (VAALA). As a cultural-platform, the festival aim to celebrate Vietnamese stories and voices through cinema; thus connecting filmmakers and audiences using shared stories, identity and artistic expression.
Over 4 years with Viet Film Fest, from Program Intern to Hospitality Committee Member, I supported festival communications and event coordination. My responsibilities included assisting with content preparation, managing audience- and filmmaker-facing materials, organizing shared documentation, maintaining spreadsheets and forms for attendee information, supporting press and promotional efforts, and creating event visuals using Canva.
Through this experience, I strengthened my skills in content support, event marketing coordination, and audience-focused communication. I also gained insight into how cultural context and audience alignment affect engagement—recognizing that while a film may resonate locally in Vietnam, it may require different messaging to connect with Vietnamese-American communities or vice versa.

BRANDING & VISUAL COMMUNICATION (In- Progress)

VN Legal Help is a startup legal document preparation service serving the Vietnamese community in Orange County, focused on clear, court-procedural support for self-represented individuals. The brand was built to make legal paperwork accurate, compliant, and easy to understand—helping clients prepare court-ready documents with confidence, without the cost of hiring an attorney. My responsibility focuses on brand and communication efforts, including brand positioning, visual identity, and client-facing materials, translating complex legal procedures into clear, approachable communication for the community.

Branding Story
This start-up legal documentation preparation service is founded by Larry Ho. He began his legal career working inside the Orange County Superior Court, where he gained firsthand insight into how court filings, form reviews, and compliance requirements truly work. Afterward, he spent many years as a paralegal and law clerk at respected law firms, assisting clients in complex immigration matters as well as family law, civil cases, and unlawful detainers. Through this experience, Larry saw how many individuals and Vietnamese families struggled to understand the legal documentation procedural and afford attorney fees while still needing accurate, reliable help. That realization led him to found VN Legal Help, a community-focused service dedicated to helping self-represented clients prepare court documents correctly and move forward with clarity and confidence, while connecting them to trusted attorneys when legal advice or representation is needed.
